‘Accra Commando’ warned to stay off Teshie chieftaincy matters

‘Accra Commando’, Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey, has been warned to stop meddling in the chieftaincy matters of Teshie.

The warning also went to the Registrar of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Enoch Addo.

The Chiefs and traditional rulers of Teshie issued the warning at a press conference on Thursday, May 25.

This followed an alleged attempt by Hon. Henry Quartey and Mr. Addo to constitute another Traditional Council for Teshie with the help of some members of the Teshie community.

This, the chiefs insist, is an unwarranted intrusion into the Teshie chieftaincy matters.

Led by the Oblahia Mantse of Teshie Gbugblah, Original Nii Martey Laryea I, the chiefs, and traditional rulers stressed that Teshie does not have recognized Teshie Mantse, hence the move by the Regional Minister and Registrar is illegal.

He warned they will resist such an attempt.

The chiefs also accused Henry Quartey of deliberately trying to destabilize the peace and stability being enjoyed by the people of Teshie.

They warned that his action would create unnecessary tension and eventually throw Teshie into chaos if the Minister does not desist from such actions.
