Adwoa Safo declared ‘a missing person’ after Privileges Committee no show

Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has been declared a missing person.

The Privileges Committee of Parliament made the declaration after she failed to once more appear for her hearing.

Three New Patriotic Party MPs , Kennedy Agyapong, Henry Quartey and Adwoa Safo were hauled before the Committee for failing to attend business of the house for over 15 days in a sitting.

Ranking member on the Committee Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan expressed displeasure at the attitude of the colleague and said the Committee feels disrespected by her decision to ignore their invitation.

“My personal view is that we have tried everything.”

“When you sign up to be a member here we have every information on you and that includes how to find you, your email address, your call.”

“When you are travelling you also give additional information because your traveling address will not be on your data in Parliament so you provide where you are.”

“So this is the information that is available to us and that is what we have exhausted,” he said.

The Committee, however, failed to take a definite decision on the Dome-Kwabenya MP including recommending her seat to be declared vacant.
