History is beckoning in the Ayawaso East Constituency, as the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate Zakaria Rahaman and his team are poised to break the thirty-year political jinx in the Constituency.
The New Patriotic Party since the inception of the Fourth Republic has never won the Constituency to the worry and disappointment of many Constituents who have never been happy with the performance of NDC-elected MPs.
The reasons can be attributed to the party’s inability to elect a winnable and marketable candidate, disunity among the executive, unnecessary tension between the Constituency executive and the candidate, and other feasible and avoidable causes.
It seems all those reasons that had militated against the success of the party in the Constituency for the past years have almost been dustbin and buried
Zak Rahaman is a young, dynamic, generous, and results-oriented man who is ready to change the status quo.
This seat as stated has been held by the opposition National Democratic Congress since the birth of the fourth Republic .Unfortunately, the impacts of our representatives to the Honourable or August House have been shambolic and appealing.
The only somehow performed MP was the late Hon Yahaya Seidu. He was the pioneer Member of Parliament.
The current Member of Parliament, Hon Nasir Toure is the worst performing MP. This gentleman has been on the throne for the past twelve years as our legislator but his impact has been nil and null.
It is sadistic that our MP has not piloted or championed any matter or issue facing the Constituency to the August House, that’s Parliament for a resolution.
He is mute and doesn’t contribute on the floor of the House or at the Committee level.
Ayawaso East’s name is dead in Parliament because we have an underperforming MP.
Zak Rahaman’s efforts and the support he has been receiving from the executive, party sympathisers and non-party supporters give hope to the numerous Constituents that for the first time,a good representative will be chosen for them.
Speaking to some of the Constituents, they expressed their confidence that Zak Rahaman will be a good person to salvage the constituency.
The spirit of Possibility is catching up with the Constituents and that the New Patriotic Party, both the Presidential and Parliamentary Candidates will succeed in breaking the thirty years of political jinx in the Constituency.
With a few days to go, the Writer believes that all things being equal the trend will change in favour of the New Patriotic Party.
In addition, the numerous developmental projects initiated by the Government in the Constituency are added advantages to the success of the party and the two decent candidates representing it.
The chances are real, visible and attainable.
All hands must be on the deck for massive victories for the two candidates.
Lastly, I will appeal to all apparatchiks to continue to sustain the unity and forgive each other for the sake of Allah and the party.
Perfection is Allah and imperfection is Man.
DMB and Zak Rahaman will make history in Sha Allah. One as a President-elect and the other one as an MP-elect
