The Deputy CEO of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Akosua Manu, known affectionately as “KOSIE,” has garnered significant support from the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Adentan Constituency delegates as she files her nomination to contest the Parliamentary seat.
Akosua Manu is vying for victory in the upcoming NPP primaries at Adentan Constituency, driven by her perceived capabilities that other aspirants lack.
Among the three contenders in the race for the Adentan seat, two are male, while Akosua Manu stands as the sole female candidate, gaining the most popularity among the delegates.
At the filing for her nomination, notable NPP figures, including the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Reginald Yofi Grant, expressed their unwavering support for KOSIE.
Speaking to The Ghanaian Publisher reporter, Nana Amoako Gyampa, at the NPP Office in Adenta Constituency, Akosua Manu stated her readiness to unseat NDC’s Ramadan in the 2024 general elections.
She emphasized that her team has devised various strategies to secure victory in the December 2, 2023 contest and to position themselves strongly for the subsequent general elections.
The Chairman of the Adentan Election Committee, Richard Obiri-Yeboah, who also serves as the vetting committee Chairman, received the nomination forms on behalf of the party.
He urged Akosua Manu and other aspirants to ensure a diligent campaign, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an internal contest atmosphere.
The NPP has opened nominations for Parliamentary Primaries in orphan constituencies where the party lacks parliamentary representation.
The decision was approved during the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meetings held on April 3, 2023.
General Secretary for the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, explained that the nomination forms could be obtained at a non-refundable application fee of GH¢3,000.00 in a banker’s draft payable to the NPP national headquarters in Accra.
Nominations will close on August 10, 2023, and the elections will be held from September 23, 2023, to December 2, 2023.
