Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has quadrupled Mahama’s errors – Dr. Obiri Yeboah

Dr. Obiri Yeboah has criticized the current government for exacerbating the errors made by former President John Mahama, citing the nation’s struggling economy and environmental damage caused by illegal mining (galamsey).

According to him, every mistake, every sin, every blunder committed by Mahama has been multiplied fourfold by the current regime.

“The Akufo-Addo-led government has quadrupled every error Mahama made,” he stated.

Speaking In an interview on Starr FM Dr. Yeboah, who campaigned against Mahama in 2016, expressed frustration over the lack of serious efforts to tackle the galamsey crisis.

“Hardly anyone is speaking up, from adults to children and even pastors. Only a few are addressing the issue of galamsey. What happened to our voices? Are we gagged,” he asked.

Recalling his involvement in the 2016 campaign against Mahama, Dr. Yeboah shared, “I was part of the ‘Operation Adopt Polling Station’ group.”

“We held meetings at a hotel near Santasi and contributed GH¢520 per polling station. I contributed because, at that time, I believed the party wasn’t doing well.”

When asked about the government’s approach to illegal mining, Dr. Yeboah warned of the grave consequences of galamsey.

“When someone says that ending galamsey will increase unemployment, it’s like saying we should tolerate armed robbers because it’s their source of livelihood,” he remarked. “The truth is, illegality remains illegality.”

He urged the government to approach the fight against galamsey with the same intensity it uses to combat armed robbery, arguing that illegal mining poses a greater threat to society.

“Our people are drinking poisoned water; it’s more dangerous than armed robbery,” Dr. Yeboah stated.
