President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reassigned Hon. Stephen Amoah, the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, as the new Deputy Minister for Finance.
This decision was taken after the untimely demise of Hon. John Kumah, the previous Deputy Minister for Finance, on March 7, 2024.
Hon. Stephen Amoah, who previously held the position of Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, will take up his new role immediately.
Additionally, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, the Member of Parliament for Achiase, has been appointed Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry, subject to parliamentary approval.
These changes reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of key ministries and to upholding the highest standards of governance.
In a statement, President Akufo-Addo expressed hope that Parliament will, on a bi-partisan basis, “expedite the approval of his nominee, so he can join the Government forthwith, and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office.”
