President Nana Akufo-Addo has accepted the resignation Food and Agriculture Minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto .
The president expressed his gratitude to his friend for serving his government and the Nation and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Dr Afriyie Akoto is the second cabinet Minister after Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyeremanten, to resign from the government within a week to focus on their campaign to lead NPP in the 2024 presidential election.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to announce cabinet reshuffle within the next few days.
A statement issued by the Director Communication at the presidency Eugene Arhin also said the president Akufo-Addo has tasked Fisheries Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson, to act as care taker minister until a substantive Minister is appointed.
