Ambulance case: NDC accuses Attorney General of fabrication and professional misconduct

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vehemently denied claims made by Attorney General Godfred Dame that Minority Leader Hon. Ato Forson met with him to plead for the dismissal of ongoing charges against him.

The NDC, through its National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, has labelled Dame’s assertions as “sheer desperation” and challenged him to produce video evidence within 24 hours.

“A drowning man will clutch at straws, and that is what Dame, the pathetic liar, has been reduced to,” Gyamfi stated in a statement.

He criticized the Attorney General for allegedly attempting to divert attention from what he described as “trumped-up charges falling like a pack of cards by the day.”

Sammy Gyamfi’s statement underscores a serious accusation made by the third accused person in the ongoing case.

According to Gyamfi, the third accused has openly called out the Attorney General in court for coercing him through phone calls and meetings at odd hours to falsify his testimony against the Minority Leader.

“This damning revelation is part of the court’s record of proceedings for today. It is instructive to note that the AG could not deny or dispute this testimony in court,” Gyamfi emphasized.

He accused Dame of unprofessional conduct, claiming that his actions breached multiple rules under the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct and Etiquette) Rules 2020 (L.I 2423).

“The dishonourable Attorney General has no video evidence of the Minority Leader pleading with him to drop his trumped-up charges. The NDC hereby dares Godfred Dame to publish his video evidence in the next 24 hours if he has the balls,” Gyamfi challenged.

Sammy Gyamfi asserted that Dame’s conduct amounts to the fabrication of evidence, constituting an offence under sections 213 and 214 of the Criminal and Other Offenses Act, 1960 (ACT 29).

“Coming events, they say, cast their shadow. Godfred Dame will not get away with this one. His cup is full,” Gyamfi warned.

As tensions escalate, all eyes are on the Attorney General for his response to the NDC’s challenge and the unfolding legal drama surrounding the case.
