The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Chairman of the Appiatse Reconstruction Implementation Team has issued an ultimatum to the Appiatse Project Consultants, Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL), to complete the township for commissioning.
Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio emphasized the importance of adhering to the timeline during his working visit to Appiatse on November 10, 2023.
He instructed the consultants to ensure timely completion of the project, underscoring that the deadline is non-negotiable.
The Deputy Minister also urged heightened supervision to maintain the standard quality of work while inspecting the housing units.
Moreover, he instructed the contractors to clean up the construction site thoroughly by removing weeds, excess debris, sand, and blocks to enhance its presentability.
During a site meeting with the consultants and contractors, Hon. Benito stressed that the government is paying for consistency in quality work, and it is imperative to deliver accordingly.
He further urged the road contractor, ECG, community water team, and sanitation agency to speed up work on site.
Additionally, Mr. Charles Blankson-Hermans, a member of the ARIT Committee and Ghana Institute of Architects, instructed the Urban Roads team to resume work on the roads by November 14, 2023, aligning with the building contractors’ schedule.
