Ghanaian actress and movie producer Kafui Danku made this known at the NDC manifesto launch on August 12.
According to Kafui Danku, this fund will help support the creative industry in movie production, music, and creative startups.
“For individuals within the creative art industry, President Mahama pledges to usher a vibrant era for music and creative industry emphasising on supporting a unique Ghanaian culture and talents to the global world.”
“A creative arts fund will be instituted to usher sustainable financial support to start ups and exciting creative enterprises,” she said.
She explained that many movie producers have halted production due to the rising cost of producing movies in the country.
Madam Danku emphasised that this challenge can only be addressed if creative individuals choose “A government that cares, a government that would invest in their development.”
The actress continued, “A vote for President Mahama is a vote for capacity building, education, and sports in the arts and tourism sectors.”
Furthermore, she said that world-class studios would be established under Mr Mahama’s tenure to enable top-notch production.
