Ashanti: Policeman found ‘unconscious’ in his room dies at KATH

A police Chief Inspector died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, hours after he was found unconscious in his room.

Samuel Tetteh Nartey’s colleagues made the shocking discovery late Friday (July 8) after attempts to reach him on his cell phone yielded no results.

The police said the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood, looking unconscious with a deep cut at the back of his head.

Blood was also oozing from his nostrils, reported the Ghana News Agency.

Nartey was rushed to the Mampong Government Hospital for treatment but was later referred to the Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he died.

His body has been deposited at the KATH’s morgue awaiting autopsy, a source told dailymailgh.com.

The late Samuel Tetteh Nartey was the Station Officer at Mampong-Atonsu, a community in the Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
