The Ghana Police Service has been detailing how the body of one of its officers was discovered in the Bobiri Forest at Kubease in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

G/Sgt Amoah Moses with the Ashanti regional police headquarters in Kumasi, was found deceased at the popular enclave when officers went to the scene following a distress call on Tuesday (14 May 2024) at about 11:20 am.

He was found dressed in a green long-sleeve shirt over khaki trousers and a black boot, lying unconscious in a supine position in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound on the right leg below the knee.

A single barrel gun and a machete were also found beside him, according to a police wireless statement sighted by Asaase News.

The statement indicated that the officer was rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) but was pronounced dead on arrival by a medical officer.
