AUCC honours four proud GJA laureates Alumni

The President of the African University College of Communications (AUCC), Prof. Abeiku Blankson, has commended former students and winners of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) awards during a special ceremony recognizing their achievements.

The event honoured Beatrice Senadju Boateng (Female Journalist of the Year – Best Feature Reporter, Television), Stanley Nii Blewu (Best Documentary Reporter of the Year), Philip Teye Agbove (Online News Reporter of the Year), and Abaa Moses Apiah (Most Promising Journalist of the Year – Upper East Region).

Prof. Blankson congratulated the GJA laureate Alumni, calling them “the light that will shine” for current and future AUCC students.

He expressed pride in their accomplishments, saying, “It speaks loudly to us that what we are doing is bearing fruit. You have shown your profession… and to the world that here at AUCC, we have good products.”

Reflecting on the significance of their GJA recognitions, he emphasized that the Ghana Journalists Association comprises thousands of journalists. He noted that for these AUCC alumni to be singled out as the best in their categories is an achievement to be proud of.

He encouraged the laureates and other students to broaden their aspirations, urging them to “think internationally” and consider pitching stories to global media outlets. “Discovery Channel, all those kinds of channels are there. That’s how you get noticed,” he added, inspiring the gathering to explore opportunities on a global scale.

Citations presented to the four GJA award winners read:
