Banda Traditional Council expresses unwavering support for Bawumia

The Banda Traditional Council has wholeheartedly endorsed Vice President and NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, along with the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Banda Constituency, Joe Dankwa.

Speaking on behalf of the Council during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign visit to Banda on Sunday, the Omanhene, Nana Sekyemme Sinapem II, conveyed their firm support for both candidates, stressing the numerous development projects the NPP, under the leadership of former President John Agyekum Kufuor and President Nana Akufo-Addo, has delivered to the constituency.

Nana Sinapem II praised the contributions of the NPP, stating, “All major projects in the Banda Constituency over the years have been brought here through the NPP.”

He emphasized the council’s commitment to supporting Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, stating, “We are here wholeheartedly to support you so that our community will see more development.”

Recalling key milestones, the Omanhene mentioned the Bui Power Project, a major undertaking initiated during President Kufuor’s administration, which he said transformed the area.

“We requested the realization of the Bui Power Project, which had been planned by Kwame Nkrumah but could not be completed. When President Kufuor came into office, we pursued it again, and it materialized, bringing the Bui Dam project right here,” Nana Sinapem II recounted.

He also noted other critical infrastructure developments, including the first tarred road and electrification project in Banda, both accomplished under the NPP government led by President Kufuor.

Nana Sinapem II further acknowledged President Akufo-Addo’s expansion of the Bui Project to include solar energy, in addition to the construction of roads, durbar grounds, and an astroturf under his administration.

Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude for the support from the Banda Traditional Council.

He assured them of his dedication to delivering the policies he had outlined and pledged to remain accountable to both the Council and Ghanaians at large.

“I will work very hard to implement the policies I’ve shared with you, and I will be back to seek your mandate again, by the grace of God,” Dr. Bawumia said.
