Bawumia can’t lead the country – Dafeamekpor

Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, has said Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia cannot lead Ghana as President.

Dr Bawumia filed his nomination forms on Friday, June 16 to enable him to contest in the presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He was accompanied by several stalwarts of the NPP including lawmakers.

Addressing a gathering at the NPP headquarters in Accra, he said “I believe that is the first step of our victory in 2024 by the Grace of God.

“This is a very important day in my life. From Sakasaka Primary School to Tamale Secondary School to Oxford University to the Bank of Ghana as Deputy Governor and then to become Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. It has been an amazing journey and I thank God for how far he has brought me.”

“It has not been an easy journey, it has taken a lot of hard work, discipline, and dedication to get here,” He added.

Speaking on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, however, Hon. Dafeamekpor argued Dr. Bawumia has failed as the head of the economic management team and hence will sink the country further if elected as President.

“Bawumia said he will take us to the next level and that is to sink us much lower than now. He can’t lead the country,” the opposition lawmaker said on
