Bawumia resumes grassroots engagement after Super Delegates’ Conference victory

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has resumed his engagement with grassroots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), following his emphatic victory in the Super Delegates Conference last month.

Dr. Bawumia blew away his opponents after securing a landslide win to place first in the August 26 elections, leaving his other nine contenders to share about 30% of the total votes cast, in the bid to select five out of the number for November’s main congress.

Less than two weeks after the election, Dr. Bawumia is resuming his constituency and grassroots engagement in the Oti Region.

Dr. Bawumia is expected to spend the next few days in the Region, before moving to the Volta Region to continue with his engagements, which has been dubbed ‘Connecting with the People’.

The Vice President connects and interacts directly with polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and constituency executives as well as Council of Elders in every constituency.

He proved his might in the NPP flagbearership contest, after winning in every region to secure over 68% of the valid votes cast, leaving his closest competitors – Kennedy Agyapong and Alan Kyerematen – at a distant 2nd and 3rd respectively!
