The flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged all parliamentary aspirants participating in the primaries to prioritize the unity and strengthening of the party.
In a message to aspirants and delegates, Dr Bawumia emphasized the significance of a united front for success in the 2024 Election.
Dr Bawumia stressed the need for the NPP to emerge from the process with increased strength and unity, highlighting the crucial nature of the upcoming election. He urged aspirants to transcend personal interests and focus on advancing the principles and ideals of the party.
“The election of December 2024 is crucial for our party and nation. The NPP needs to come out of this process strengthened, united and ready to deliver victory in 2024. We must rise above personal interests and petty differences and focus on the greater goal of advancing the principles and ideals of our great party, the New Patriotic Party,” he said.
Dr Bawumia extended his best wishes to all aspirants and acknowledged the hard work and sacrifices required for the journey ahead. He underscored the collective responsibility of all party members to uphold the integrity of the party’s electoral system and adhere to the decisions made by the party delegates.
The Vice President also congratulated Members of Parliament running unopposed in the primaries and called on them to justify the confidence placed in them by working diligently with all stakeholders to secure victory for the party in both the presidential and parliamentary polls.
“I also wish to congratulate all Members of Parliament who are running unopposed in their constituencies. The party and their constituents have expressed confidencbawue in their leadership. I, therefore, entreat them to justify their confidence by working with all stakeholders to deliver their constituencies in the presidential and parliamentary polls,” Dr Bawumia said.
