According to a confidential poll conducted among delegates of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) special electoral college, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is leading with 71.7%.
Special delegates of the NPP go to the polls on Saturday to choose their potential presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.
His closest competitor, former Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen, is far behind with 14.3%, while Kennedy Agyepong, the Assin Central constituency’s lawmaker, closely follows with 11% of the delegates surveyed.
The remaining seven candidates share a total of 3.1% of the votes.
The poll also indicates that Dr. Bawumia is likely to win the majority of votes in all 16 regions.
