BE IN HEALTH

Scripture Reading: 3 John

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2

We need sound bodies to do the things we want to do this year. It takes physical energy, drive and wellness to accomplish much with the time we have.

Throughout the scriptures, God promises us health and healing as part of His covenant relationship with us. God wants us to be well. Being the creator of our bodies, He has the power to restore the body back to working order when it malfunctions.

Knowing God as Healer should not deceive us into recklessly handling our bodies. As the temple of the Holy Spirit, we must treat our bodies with respect for both the divine and natural laws of health. These include what we eat and drink, the hygienic conditions in which we live and the way we guard our minds and thoughts. We need to keep our bodies strong and healthy in order to carry out the assignments that the Lord has given to us.

Here are some ideas on things you can do this year to improve your health and keep your mind and body functioning optimally.

▪ Claim the promises of God for health and long life

▪ Cut down on fat and sugar in your diet

▪ Drink a lot of clean water

▪ Don’t eat late at night

▪ Exercise for at least thirty minutes, twice a week

▪ Take an annual vacation of at least two weeks in a year

▪ Every night before you sleep, cast your anxieties upon the Lord and trust Him with your cares

May the Lord keep us well and healthy in 2022 as we also take personal responsibility to ensure we are fit and sound.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I commit my body to you. Surround me with good health from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
