Roads And Highway Ministry Probe Buduburam Blasting Incident

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has begun investigations into the cause of the recent blasting incident on the Kasoa-Winneba dualization project.

In a statement signed by Nasir Ahmed Yartey, Head of the Public Relations Unit, the Ministry announced that it would collaborate with relevant state institutions to conduct thorough investigations and assess the number of casualties and injuries.

The institutions include the Ghana Police Service and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).

The statement follows a recent blasting accident at the Buduburam site of the Kasoa-Winneba dualization project, which resulted in fatalities and injuries.

The Ministry pledged to share the findings of the investigations with the public.

It extended condolences to the families of those affected, expressing wishes for their speedy recovery.

The ministry, however, noted that the contractor had previously conducted 21 controlled blasts at the same site in collaboration with NADMO and the Ghana Police Service without any incidents.
