Beware of recruitment scams circulating on social media – CSA warns job seekers

The Cyber Security Authority is warning job seekers to beware of messages being circulated on social media platforms particularly on Facebook about recruitment exercises by some government institutions like the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The messages, according to the CSA, are fraudulent and are being circulated to scam desperate job seekers.

It warned that Genuine recruitments from any Government institution or organisation especially the Security Services will be advertised in the media as a normal process.

Job seekers are, therefore, urged to do due diligence to ensure the authenticity of any form of recruitment scheme from the legitimate institution before making any monetary commitment.

Meanwhile, the CSA has a 24-hour Cybersecurity/Cybercrime Incident Reporting Points of Contact (PoC) for reporting cybercrimes and for seeking clarification and guidance on online activities and transactions; call or Text – 292, WhatsApp – 0501603111, Email – report@csa.gov.gh.
