Black Stars: Osman Bukari makes MLS debut in Austin FC Draw

Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has made his debut in the Major League Soccer (MLS) after joining Austin FC in June.

Bukari, who joined Austin from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, started in Austin FC’s 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC; Austin went into the contest having lost 3-1 to Dallas FC in the immediate past game.

Bukari lasted 57 minutes in the game before being replaced by Owen Wolff after having 30 touches and successfully completing 15 of 21 passes.

25 year old Bukari connected with a teammate on a cross in three attempts while winning three of five ground duels and successfully completing three dribbles out of four attempts.

It was a solid outing for the speedy winger who became the latest Black Stars player to move from Europe to the MLS after Joseph Paintsil swapped Belgian side KRC Genk for Los Angeles Galaxy.

Paintsil is back in form after an injury spell absence having scored a goal and two assists for the second game in a row in Galaxy’s 3-2 win over Portland Timbers. (
