Breaking the ‘8’ will be a challenge – Majority leader admits

Majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has acknowledged the challenge the New Patriotic Party (NPP) faces in its ambition to “breaking the 8” in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Despite recognizing the difficulties, he expressed confidence in the party’s ability to overcome these obstacles, citing divine guidance as a key factor.

“By what has happened in the parliamentary elections, the endeavour of ‘breaking the 8’ may become more tasking, but we can, and must overcome, God, being our Guide,” stated Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu in a release dated January 28, 2024.

This statement came following the Parliamentary Primaries held on January 27, 2024.

In his press release, the Majority Leader also took the opportunity to commend both the winners and the losers of the primaries.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort within the party as they approach the general elections in December 2024.

“The battle is over. All have fought a good fight. Congratulations to all the successful and the non-successful. As a collective, let us remember that the bigger battle is December 2024,” he remarked.
