Busia Memorial Lecturers set for Friday Oct. 1

The Busia Institute for Rural and Democratic Development (BIRDD) will hold a lecture to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia becoming Prime Minister of Ghana in 1969.

Friday, 1st October 2021, marks exactly 52 years from the date the Progress Party (PP) assumed the reins of governance with Dr. Abrefa Busia as the executive prime minister.

The day would be observed with the lecture at the Eusbett International Conference Centre in Sunyani, capital of the Bono Region with His Excellency Former President J A Kufuor as the keynote speaker and Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, Vice President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, as the special guest of honour.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘The Youth in a Free Enterprise Society.’
