Ghana goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, was the penalty shootout hero for Orlando Pirates, saving a penalty before converting the winning spot kick to send the South Africans through to the semi finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The 26-year-old kept a clean sheet as Pirates prevailed in regulation time with a 1-0 win in Johannesburg to to level the 1-1 on aggregate against Tanzanian side Simba SC.
Compatriot Kwame Peprah scored the only goal of the match for Orlando Pirates FC in their Confederation Cup quarter-finals 2nd leg fixture.
Peprah headed home a cross from defender Innocent Maela in the 60th minute to put the Buccaneers on level terms on aggregate.
The game travelled to penalty shootouts and Pirates won 4-3 to progress to the semi-final of the 2021-22 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Ofori saved the first penalty of the shoot-outs to give his team an early advantage in the spot kicks with a brilliant save.
He scored the final spot kick of the shootouts to send Pirates through by winning 4-3 on penalties.
Pirates will now face Al Ahly Tripoli for a place in the final.
