Chief of Staff’s Aide donates to Nkoranza SHS

The Nkoranza Senior High School in the Bono East Region has received laboratory equipment worth thousands of Ghana cedis for placing first in a recently held Regional Mathematics and Science quiz organized for Senior High Schools in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions. 

The donation was made by Mrs. Harriet Kyeremateng Oppong, a native of Nkoranza and Deputy Director of Political Affairs at the office of Chief of Staff, Jubilee House – Accra. 

The items included six science laboratory microscopes and a laptop.In an interview after the presentation,  Mrs. Oppong explained that the motive behind the donation was to support government’s free SHS policy and also encourage the learning of mathematics and science in the Municipality. 

She urged the students to take their studies seriously since education is the foundation for the development of every nation. According to her, the progress of Nkoranzaman is dependent on their hard work, commitment and dedication to their studies.She later donated fifty bags of cement to support the renovation of the school entrance; a project being undertaken by the old students of the school.

She indicated that even though she is not an old student of the school, the development of everything Nkoranzaman is of utmost importance to her.

She also appealed to well-meaning people in Nkoranza especially, the old students to continuously support their alma mater to enable them realise their vision. 

The Assistant Headmistress of the school who received the items on behalf of headmaster commended Mrs. Harriet kyeremateng Oppong for the gesture. 

On her part, the head girl of the school who was full of praise for Mrs. Oppong indicated that though the school has been benefitting from the benevolence of other people, this was the biggest donation ever to be made to them.

She promised that the items would be put to good use as expected by the donor. 

Mrs. Oppong was accompanied by some regional executives of the New Patriotic Party and her uncle, Michael Awuah, NPP 1st Vice Chairman, Japan chapter who is an old student of the school and a native of the community.
