Make a Child Smile: A New Year Tradition of Giving

The second edition of Make a Child Smile charity event has taken place in Accra at the Chosen Children’s Center in Darkuman.

The group donated essential items, including food supplies, stationery, toiletries, and play items, to support the center’s needs.

Ms. Adjoa Duodu, leading the donation stated that Make a Child Smile is more than just an event but rather a movement.

“It’s goal is to bring together individuals with a shared passion to support needy children, by offering a collaborative platform for joint donations and community impact” she said.

As Make a Child Smile continues to grow, Ms. Duodu hopes to inspire others to join the mission to give back.

Through this annual New Year tradition and other occasions, she aims to bring smiles to the faces of children, making every celebration a meaningful contribution to their lives.

In January 2024, embarked on a heartfelt journey to transform her birthday celebration into a meaningful act of love and generosity.

This vision gave birth to Make a Child Smile, an annual charity event dedicated to bringing joy and support to needy children.

The initiative mobilizes Adjoa’s friends and loved ones to join her in celebrating the day with children who need it the most.

The event began with a cheerful party filled with music, dance and games, creating a festive atmosphere for the children.

A special lunch was organized afterward, for the children and their caregivers and volunteers.
