Christian Atsu Not Rescued- Hatayaspor Club Doctor

Conflicting reports emerging indicates that Hatayspor and former Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu has not been found.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle forward went missing after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria  Monday morning with over 2, 300 people reported dead.

Atsu and the Sporting Director of Hatayaspor, Taner Savut, were the remaining members of the team that were missing since the disaster.

On Tuesday it was widely confirmed that Atsu has been rescued while the search for Savut continues.

He was reportedly under the rubble for 26 hours before he was found by the rescue team.

However, the Nationalist quotes Gurbey Kahveci, Hatayaspor Club Doctor as saying Atsu has not been rescued.

The latest revelation makes nonsense, earlier reports which sent social media agog over news of Atsu’s rescue. 

Other news portals also claim Atsu, cannot be located some 24 hours after he was pulled out of the debris.

Turkish reporter, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu told Joy Sports the winger’s health is currently being monitored.
