The Coalition of Muslim Organizations, Ghana (COMOG) say the Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis Xavier Sosu lacks the moral backing to advocate for two holidays for Muslims during the Eid-l Fitr and Eid-l Adha occasions.
This, in the view of the group is because the Legislator is also found defending LGBTQI+ community and its practice in Ghana which is against the position of Islam and Ghanaian values.
COMOG in a statement argued that in as “Much as we welcome the idea of granting additional holidays to Muslims to facilitate the celebration of these two important Muslim rites and his right to do so, we take strong exception to the moral authority of Lawyer Sosu as the sponsor of “the Bill.”
