Police dismiss claims of electoral disturbances at Nsawam Adoagyiri

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed claims of electoral disturbances at Nsawam Adoagyiri in connection with the Electoral Commission’s re-collation exercise on Saturday in Accra.

A statement from the Police said a viral video circulating on social media showing individuals allegedly registering their displeasure about the collation exercise by blocking and setting fires on public roads at Nsawam Adoagyiri was false.

It clarified that the incident depicted in the video occurred on December 8, 2024, and was unrelated to today’s activities.

The statement said investigations into the December 8 incident were ongoing.

The Police reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order, citing the deployment of security personnel in Nsawam Adoagyiri to ensure calm.

The statement urged the public to disregard the false claims and cooperate with law enforcement to prevent unnecessary tension.
