District Elections: OKC NDC Parliamentary Candidate Baba Sadiq tours voting centers in Gbemomo Electoral Area

Baba Sadiq, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central, undertook a tour of various voting centers in the Gbemomo Electoral Area during the ongoing district-level elections.

With keen eyes on the proceedings, Sadiq actively observed the democratic exercise, emphasizing the importance of civic participation and transparency in the electoral process.

The parliamentary candidate’s presence at the voting centres aimed to foster a direct connection with the constituents, as he engaged with voters and election officials alike.

Baba Sadiq expressed enthusiasm for the democratic process and reiterated the significance of every citizen’s voice in shaping local governance.

As he interacted with voters at the Silent Stars Center, Sadiq listened to their concerns and aspirations, promising to advocate for the community’s needs if elected in the Parliamentary elections next year.

Voting is currently underway across the country to elect assembly members and unit committee members.

Over 66,000 individuals are competing for assembly and unit committee positions in the local polls.

The Electoral Commission’s statistics indicate that there are 18,755 assembly member candidates, and 47,502 unit committee member candidates, totalling 66,257 candidates.

The electoral battleground spans 6,215 electoral areas across 216 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
