Donkorkrom drivers, residents fix poor roads

Drivers and residents of Donkorkrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region on Wednesday, September 21 engaged in communal labour to fix portions of the Donkorkrom road.

The portion of the road caved in on Tuesday, causing vehicles and passengers traveling from the Volta Region through Agordeke to the Donkorkrom township to be stranded.

They used wood logs, sizeable stones and bags of sand to fill the caved-in portion, hopeful that major rehabilitation works commence soon.

The residents had earlier, on Friday, September 16, staged a demonstration and also presented a petition to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Isaac Ofori Koree, over the deplorable nature of the road.

The petition raised concerns on how the poor road network in the district affects healthcare delivery, economic activities and security.
