Stephen Wengam, Assemblies Of God Executives visit Otumfuor

A 14 member delegation of the Executive Presbytery of Assemblies of God Ghana, led by the General Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, to introduce the new leadership team of the church to him.
Adressing the meeting, Rev. Wengam commended the Asantehene for his unequaled contribution to nation building and the development of Asanteman, especially, the championing and provision of scholarships for the poor and needy.
He thanked Otumfuor for his support for churches, releasing lands for church buildings and construction of schools.

The GS briefed the Asantehene on the global influence of Assemblies of God, siting the worldwide membership of 70 million, the Africa membership of 19 million and 600,000 in Ghana.
He added that members of Assemblies of God, Ghana play key roles in the development of the country and Asanteman.

On matters of national development the General Superintendent called on Otumfuo to use his bi partisan office to encourage the leadership of the nation to invite all political parties to a bipartisan round table to find solutions to the challenges facing the economy in this time of global economic recession.
Rev Wengam commended the government for measures it has put in place to mitigate the harsh effects of the present economic challenges.
He reiterated the church’s commitment to continue to partner with every government and all traditional rulers to build a God fearing, united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on his part, congratulated the new leadership team and Assemblies of God Ghana on their contribution towards the development of Ghana and the society. He lauded the church’s evangelistic activities leading to the spread of the word of God to every part of the country. Otumfuor advised the new leadership team to unite and support the General Superintendent.
He promised to continue to work with the government and all the political parties to ensure the peace and development of Ghana.
