Dutch side AZ Alkmaar’s Technical Director, Max Huibert, has talked up the versatility and quality Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq brings to the team.
He said this in an official team interview after acquiring the 23 year old from Swedish side BK Hacken on a five year deal.
“In the end, we really wanted to have another attacker after Jesper (Karlsson’s) departure. Ibrahim could possibly play on the left but yes of course he is a guy who specifically plays from the right side and as a slash striker.
If you are going to play a lot of matches and want to be active in several competitions then you will also have to be very strong in width and whoever starts or starts on the bench must be quality so that when players come in, you don’t go down in terms of level but you remain equal and maybe even get a little better so that’s what we think we’ve achieved here with Ibrahim.”
Sadiq scored two goals in a 5-3 aggregate win for Hacken over Aberdeen in his final game for the Swedish side. The win booked Hacken’s place in the Europa League group stage.
Alkmaar will compete in the Europa League in Group E.
