EC announces ballot printing statistics for 2024 elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced its ballot printing statistics for the upcoming 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

In an official statement, the Commission disclosed that ballot statistics have been calculated based on the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) with an additional two percent increase to ensure sufficient ballots for Election Day.

The EC explained that while it encourages full voter turnout, it understands that not every registered voter will cast their ballot on election day.

To avoid any shortage or excessive wastage of ballots, the Commission will adhere to a tried-and-tested method of adding a percentage increase to the registered voter count.

“This methodology has been employed since 1992, and we are confident it will once again prove effective.”

“We have taken into account the total number of voters on the Provisional Voters Register and added two percent, ensuring there will be no shortfalls or unnecessary waste,” the statement said.

The Commission urged the public to have faith in its ability to execute the election process efficiently.
