EV Beauty Ghana donates 1,000 disinfectants to Ghana Prisons Service

EV Beauty Ghana Company Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating 1,000 bottles of disinfectants to the Ghana Prisons Service Headquarters in Cantonments, Accra.

Valued at approximately GH¢100,000.00, the donation aims to promote hygiene and safeguard the health of both inmates and prison officers.

During the presentation, EV Beauty Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Ohemaa Ama Vera, (Born Ying Jie) expressed appreciation to the Ghanaian government for creating an enabling environment for foreign businesses to thrive.

“So today, we are here to donate to the Prison Service Headquarters. As foreigners in Ghana, we recognize the support and protection provided by the government, which has allowed us to establish and grow our business.”

“In Chinese culture, when someone extends a favour, it is essential to give back. This donation is our way of showing gratitude,” Vera stated.

Vera added that the company has been engaging with various government institutions and, through this partnership, decided to extend support to the Ghana Prisons Service.

She emphasized the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration for inmates, aligning EV Beauty Ghana’s mission with the Prisons Service’s efforts to offer second chances.

“The theme of the prison service is about giving inmates another opportunity to rebuild their lives. By supporting their hygiene and health, we hope to contribute to their well-being and future reintegration into society,” she said.

She also stressed the significance of ensuring the health of prison officers, recognizing their role in maintaining an effective correctional system.

EV Beauty Ghana developed the donated disinfectants during the COVID-19 pandemic and Ama Vera stressed their unique properties, emphasizing safety and effectiveness.

“This product is special because it contains no alcohol, chemicals, color, or taste. It’s as pure as water. You could even drink it without harm. It is made using human blood cell technology, ensuring it effectively eliminates viruses while remaining completely safe for human use,” she explained.

EV Beauty Ghana also offers a range of beauty products, including body lotions, face cleansers, and pregnancy-safe skincare solutions with plans to introduce lipsticks and additional beauty products soon.

The Ghana Prisons Service expressed appreciation for the donation, acknowledging its impact on maintaining hygiene within the prison system.

Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Sophia Osei-Bonsu, who received the donation on behalf of the service, expressed gratitude to EV Beauty Ghana.

“On behalf of the officers at the Prison Headquarters, we sincerely appreciate this generous donation from EV Beauty Ghana. We believe in its effectiveness and look forward to seeing its benefits for both officers and inmates,” she stated.

She also encouraged the company to extend similar support to other prison facilities across the country adding, “We have 46 stations across the country with both inmates and officers. We hope that in the future you will visit and extend your support to these other stations as well.”
