President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says touring the country to inspect his government’s ongoing projects has been needful in recent times to shape his government.
According to him, the tour was also to say “thank you” to the people who gave him the second chance to rule this country.
“It’s very important to go around and inspect ongoing projects and know the problems of the people. Their responses will help shape my government and policy direction,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo who was speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on PEACE FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ during his Greater Accra regional tour maintained that thanking the people as part of his visits is very important to him.
“I go to thank the people for their votes. Unfortunately, in Greater Accra the 2020 election was not what we had expected, we lost several seats here but nevertheless, we had a substantial vote here so it’s important that I also thank them for their expression of confidence in us,” he said.
“Even people who lost elections are going round thanking people so how much more me?” he rhetorically asked with a peal of broad laughter.
