Ghana’s quest to qualify to compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues to be an intriguing one as the Black Stars continue a three way battle for the sole automatic qualification spot in Group I.
The Black Stars beat Central African Republic 4-3 in Kumasi after bagging a 2-1 win over Mali in Bamako to register three wins in four qualification games.
The four time FIFA World Cup participants held the standings lead after the wins but that lead has been washed away following Comoros’ big win over Chad.
Comoros beat Chad 2-0 away from home to condemn Chad to bottom place in the six team standings with zero points while Comoros got its third win in four games just like Ghana.
However, the island nation moved to Group I standings summit based on having a superior goal difference (+4) to Ghana’s goal difference of +2.
After playing out a goalless draw with Mali, Madagascar rank third with seven points and Mali having five points. Scroll down to view full standings.
