Ken Ofori-Atta to brief Parliament next week on measures to address economic challenges

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta will next week brief Parliament on various steps the government is taking to address challenges facing the economy.

Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin disclosed this on Friday while briefing the House on Parliament’s activities for the period.

The Finance Minister, he said, is poised to provide answers to deal with the current economic difficulties.

“Mr. Speaker the Finance Minister has twelve questions. We know the challenging times we find ourselves in, but we believe that he would make it and explain government’s financial policies,” he said on the floor of the House.

Mr. Ofori-Atta is also expected to address matters including whether government intends to return to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial assistance.

The Finance Minister is on record to have indicated that government has no intention to go for assistance from the IMF.

Meanwhile, the government is currently holding a crunch cabinet meeting to find solutions to the raging economic challenges.

The meeting, being held at the Peduase Lodge is expected to end on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
