Fixing the country Ghana lauds Gov’ts education agenda

Pro-government group Fixing The Country Ghana, says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made unparalleled gains in the development of education in the country.

According to the group, the President has changed the nation’s fortunes with education.

The Group is sure that the Nana Akuffo-Addo-led transformation was painstaking and laborious, but has successfully put Ghana’s education on the road map to total recovery.

Addressing a news conference in Accra, a leading member of the Group, Fadi Dabbousi noted that other African countries are catching their breath as they attempt to follow in Ghana’s footsteps.

“Since the assumption of power by the President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, education in Ghana began the laborious task of rolling forward after stagnation for eight years of NDC’s disastrous incompetence in this very important sector of growth.”

Cataloguing among others the supply of teaching and learning equipment to some TVET centres across the country, Mr. Dabbousi disclosed that the project objectives are aligned with the priorities of the “Ghana Beyond Aid” agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) focused on education which emphasizes on the importance of skills development.

“A major benefit of the various equipment is that they use real-world industrial quality components to help students become better prepared for what they will encounter on the job with industry-specific skills in readiness for the job market. Each individual equipment has topics that incorporate the skill development specific to the modern industry of relevance. This is what is required to boost Technical and Vocational Skills for the 21st Century to tackle challenges presented by the current industrial revolution going on in Ghana, ably led by the institution called, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo” he said.

Mr. Dabbousi while praising the Education Minister Dr. Yaw Adutwum for supporting the President’s vision added “We wish to especially thank His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the sterling vision and his resolve to make manifest a robust education system that would produce engineers, scientists and specialised technicians to handle sensitive works to reduce Ghana’s dependence on foreign knowhow.”

On STEM education, Kofi Twum Boafo, another member of the group indicated that Free SHS STEM facilities have been built to accommodate 3,000 students in schools like Abomosu SHS, Kpesempke, Bosomtwe Girls Stem Academy,  Sefwi Awaso SHS Deduako and Jachie.

Hopdson Adorye, a member of the group

The facilities under the STEM system he said have been made possible with the implementation of the road map to secure funding for 40 STEM academies which when fully

“All students in the STEM academies will have computer science and robotics as core classes, thereby increasing our ability to produce STEM professionals.
