Mpraeso MP donate GHS 10K to support teachers after fire outbreak

The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency, Honourable Davis Ansah Opoku has donated GHS 10,000 to facilitate temporary accommodation for teachers affected by a recent fire outbreak.

The gesture was after fire destroyed a teachers’ bungalow at the Presbyterian Basic School in Nkyenekyene in the Kwahu South Municipality.

The incident, reportedly caused by a mentally challenged individual, resulted in significant property loss for the resident educators.

In response, Honourable Ansah Opoku donated GHS 10,000 to the Education Directorate to facilitate temporary accommodation for the affected teachers.

Additionally, he provided an undisclosed amount directly to the two female teachers who lost personal belongings and supplied them with bags of rice to support them during this challenging period.

To enhance future emergency responses, the Member of Parliament also allocated GHS 10,000 to the Ghana Fire Service to support fuel acquisition, ensuring they are better equipped to handle such incidents promptly.

The suspect has been apprehended and is currently under investigation by local authorities.

He urged the community to support educators and strengthen our emergency response systems. We can overcome these challenges and build a safer environment for all.
