Maame Afia Akoto, a former Deputy Director of Communication for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has blamed Captain Smart, host of Onua Maakye Morning Show for the violent clash in Obuasi over the weekend.
She wondered if the management of Media General and Ghana journalists are keeping quiet on what happened in Obuasi and the wicked role of Captain Smart? Stressing “Are we citizens going to pretend on his careless role?”
Taking to social media, Maame Afia Akoto, added “Look, we can’t pretend over this when lives have been lost. He used his platform to mislead and misguide some citizens to do this shameful thing that has led to the death of these guys. Captain Smart should be called out on his shameful behavior”.
Ras Mubarak, a former Member of Parliament for Kunbungu shared similar sentiments of the former NPP Communications Director in another social media post.
He wrote that Onua TV should squarely be blamed for the Obuasi killings for allowing its platform to be used to incite violence by one of its staff.
“We’ve come a long way and must not in the name of free speech allow media houses to be used as vessels to incident violence. We can’t live in a country with such wanton indiscipline” he said. .
