Sena Okity-Duah appointed coordinator for FSHS secretariat

Former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benita Sena Okity-Duah, has been appointed the Coordinator for the Free Senior High School (SHS) Secretariat.

Born on June 19, 1976, in Anloga in the Volta Region, Okity-Duah first gained national recognition when she won the Miss Ghana pageant in 1997 at the age of 20.

She attended Achimota School for her secondary education before pursuing fashion studies at the London School of Fashion, where she spent four years honing her craft.

Upon her return to Ghana in 2003, she established herself as a notable figure in the country’s fashion industry.

Her political journey began when she defeated the incumbent MP, Nii Nortey Dua, to secure the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket for the Ledzokuku Constituency.

She subsequently won the parliamentary seat in 2012, making history as the first-ever Miss Ghana beauty queen to be elected as a Member of Parliament.

Beyond her legislative role, Okity-Duah served as Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection from April 2013 to June 2014.
