Dr Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, has donated 10 brand new motorbikes to support the campaign of her colleague, Mr Evans Opoku-Bobie, MP for Asunafo North, to retain the constituency seat in the December 7, 2024 polls.
Already, Dr Prempeh, a former minister of state, said she had donated 12 motorbikes to the Ahafo Regional Women’s Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and 30 to the party’s Electoral Area Coordinators in the Tano North Constituency.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of the presentation ceremony held at Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, Dr Prempeh stressed her readiness and commitment to supporting Mr Opoku-Bobie, also the Deputy Minister of Sports, as she exited Parliament in 2025.
She emphasised that the NPP had done a lot and chalked significant successes in the Ahafo Region, hence the need for the party to propagate the unprecedented achievements in the electioneering.
Improved road infrastructure, health and educational facilities as well as potable water remained a testimony of the government, she said, and advised the party to remain decorous in the electioneering and conduct issue-based campaigns.
She described Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s Election 2024 flagbearer and running-mate, respectively, as the best-match for the party to break the eight and retain political power in the December 7 polls.
“However, we need to avoid complacency, reach out to and propagate the achievements of the Government to the masses at the grassroots level to win the election in a wider margin,” she noted.
Mr Opoku-Bobie expressed appreciation to Dr Prempeh for the support and commended her for her exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the NPP in the region.
