GAP demands quick implementation of NDC’s ORAL

The Ghana Alternative Party (GAP), a budding political force, has applauded the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) ‘Operation Retrieve All Loot’ (ORAL) initiative, which seeks to address corruption and recover stolen public funds.

The party has urged the NDC to accelerate the implementation of this policy to rebuild public trust.

In a press release on Monday, GAP’s founder and leader, Osahene Nana Agyei Boateng, commended the NDC for introducing the initiative.

“’It is a message that firmly resonated with Ghanaians. We urge the committee to act swiftly to instil confidence in the citizens,” he emphasized.

GAP welcomed the incoming NDC administration and congratulated President-elect H.E. John Dramani Mahama on his landslide victory in the 2024 general elections.

The party expressed its commitment to supporting the NDC administration with innovative policies, including their proposed “24-hour economy” ideas.

However, it also pledged to criticize the new government when necessary.

Nana Agyei Boateng urged the leadership of the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to adhere to the rule of law amidst rising tensions linked to the re-collation of parliamentary results.

“We urge the leadership of the NPP and NDC to resort to the rule of law concerning the ongoing heightening of tension correlated with the re-collation of parliamentary results,” the release stated.

Nana Agyei Boateng paid tribute to Ghanaians, including security personnel, electoral officials, and others who endured challenges or lost their lives during the election period.

Meanwhile, GAP has expressed disapproval of the expulsion of 280 New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Agona West constituency, describing the decision as “harsh” and calling for inclusivity in Ghanaian politics.

It urged the expelled members and other disgruntled members of any political party, movement, or coalition to join GAP’s ranks as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity and progress in Ghana.
