Stop the secret recruitment – Opare Addo tells IGP

Mr. George Opare Addo, the National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, to stop the secret recruitments into the Ghana Police Service.

He insists that if the IGP ignores this warning, he will mobilise the youth of Ghana to demonstrate against the discriminatory practices in the recruitment process.

Mr. Opare Addo made this statement while speaking at the NDC’s national campaign launch held at Jubilee Park in the Tamale metropolis of the Northern Region on Saturday, July 26, 2024.

The event themed “Change and Reset Ghana” saw the mammoth supporters of the party cheer on his stern warnings.

He urged the IGP to halt the secret recruitment process and to create equal opportunities for all unemployed youth across the country.

“As the leader of the youth wing of the NDC, I will organise already disillusioned youth to stage a mammoth demonstration against the IGP,” he declared.

He reminded the IGP that halting the exercise is essential for maintaining peace and preventing further unrest.
