Ghana forward Ernest Nuamah made his Olympique Lyon debut after joining the multiple time Ligue 1 winners in the recently closed transfer window.
Nuamah played 76 minutes in Lyon’s 1-4 loss to reigning Ligue winners Paris Saint-Germain; Paris and France superstar Kylian Mbappe scored twice in the win.
The 19 year old former Right To Dream Academy player Nuamah made his presence felt by completing 13 of 17 accurate pass attempts, attempting three shots on target and missed one big chance in the contest.
The former FC Nordsjaelland player was substituted in the 76th minute for Brazilian attacking midfielder Jeffinho.
The loss means Lyon is still without a win four games into the 2023-2024 French Ligue 1 season and the team ranks bottom of the 18 team league standings.
After the game, Lyon fans voiced their frustrations at the players stating, “There were people who wore the Lyon shirt before you who gave everything for it. Don’t defile or smear it.”
Nuamah is part of the 25 man Black Stars squad to face Central African Republic on Thursday, September 7 in the final round of 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
