Ghana will continue to collaborate with US at all levels – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured US Vice President Kamala Harris that Ghana would continue to collaborate with the US at all levels, particularly toward the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

At a joint press conference held at the seat of government on Monday, March 27, President Akufo-Addo said that “Ghana will continue to collaborate with the United States of America at all levels particularly, toward a peaceful resolution of conflicts for global peace and security to promote sustainable development around the world.”

Madam Kamala Harris for her part announced announce US$100 million in support of Benin, Ghana, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire and Togo to fight extremism and instability.

She commended President Akufo-Addo the instrumental role he is playing to ensure stability in the region.

“We appreciate your [President Akufo-Addo] leadership and response to recent democratic backsliding in West Africa and standing up for democratic principles around the world,” Harris said.

“We also recognise Ghana’s significant contribution in the Sahel,” she added.

“To help address the threat of violent extremism and instability, today I am pleased to announce US$100 million in support of Benin, Ghana, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire and Togo,” she added.
