Former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama has emphasized the significance of this year for Ghana, stressing the crucial decision Ghanaians face in electing a President on December 7.
Speaking at the National Conference of the Ministers’ Wives Association of Assemblies of God Ghana, Mrs. Mahama, a church member, prayed for divine guidance for Ghanaians, hoping they would possess the wisdom to make the right choice amid prevalent misinformation and material influences.
She encouraged the pastors’ wives to join her in praying for her husband, John Dramani Mahama, asking God to grant his desires and empower him to positively transform Ghana’s destiny.
Lordina Mahama praised the pastors’ wives for their generosity, maternal love, and valuable counsel, particularly acknowledging those serving in rural and remote areas for their significant sacrifices.
She appreciated how the Pastors’ Wives Association has equipped many with skills to offer emotional and material support to their congregations.
In her address, Mrs. Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers Wives Association, discussed the church’s theme and the role pastors’ wives play in evangelism and church planting.
She stressed their potential impact in countering moral decay and the LGBTQ+ agenda by championing these efforts.
Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, explained the immense support pastors receive from their wives, especially in deprived areas where pastors often earn minimal wages.
He prayed for blessings upon these dedicated women and advised them to avoid the negativity exemplified by Job’s wife in the Bible.
He urged pastors’ wives to be role models for their congregations, particularly the women and young ladies, believing this would significantly contribute to church growth and national development.
The conference, themed ‘Seasoned to Send the Light’ was attended by 2,000 pastors’ wives.
Topics discussed included Ministerial Ethics, Personal Grooming and Social Skills, The Pastor’s Wife and Emotional Intelligence, Leading Outside the Box, and Stress and Mental Wellness.
