You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26:3)
The whole world seems to have been plunged on a very fast lane. Everyone appear to be hastening under pressure in pursuit of some kind of gains.
It actually takes a bit more now than before to make it in life. This has forced the discipline of waiting on God in meditation among Christians into the shadows.
However, in MHB 178, the hymnodist sets us a good example that is worth emulating. When his love for Christ grows cold, he goes to God in thought.
When my love to Christ grows weak,
When for deeper faith I seek,
Then in thought I go to thee,
Garden of Gethsemane!
Learn to exercise your thoughts in conversation with and contemplation on God. As our text says, God will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on him.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, please help us to cultivate the discipline of focusing our minds on you and your ways in Jesus name. Amen!
